Steve Clarke insisted his squad will "fight for their country" until the bitter end as they twice equalised against Austria to make a solid start to qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

Sasa Kalajdzic's double in the second half had threatened to leave the Euro 2020-bound Scots three points behind their main rivals in Group F after just one game despite defender Grant Hanley levelling with a header after the opener.

But a spectacular John McGinn overhead kick clinched a 2-2 draw at Hampden in the opening game on the road to Qatar with five minutes to play.

And asked on Sky Sports how he'd sum up the Aston Villa man's beauty, Clarke smirked: "It's a John McGinn goal, isn't it?"I actually thought he was offside but it was a good decision from.
