SSPCA issue appeal to Rutherglen dog walkers after second pet poisoned in the area

Rutherglen dog owners are being warned to be vigilant when out with their pets after a second dog has been poisoned in the area.

The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information following the suspected poisoning of a dog in Rutherglen, on Tuesday, September 29.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity was informed that the dog, Alfie, had ingested a substance in the Fernbrae Meadows area, that had made him become unwell.

He was immediately taken to the vet.This is the second incident of its kind in the area in a matter of weeks.Last week, we told how another dog, Toffee, sadly passed away after ingesting a suspected toxic substance in Cathkin Braes Country Park on September 21.Pet sitting group The Dog Sitters Club revealed the sad news of Toffee’s.
