Scots ‘stabbing’ victim in serious condition as man charged over alleged ‘blade attack’

A suspect has been charged after a man was allegedly stabbed during an early morning ‘blade attack’. The 23-year-old remains in a serious condition in hospital as police continue to investigate the incident, which took place in Edinburgh’s Moredun Park Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.50am on Friday, June 17, following reports of an assault.A large cordon was put in place with several paths closed off by investigators.Police Scotland have now confirmed a 61-year-old man has been charged in connection.A force spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 22-year-old man with injuries as a the result of an assault at Moredun Park Road in Edinburgh around 5.50am on Friday, 17 June.“He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, where he is currently in a serious condition.“A 61-year-old man has been charged, and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
