Salford woman 'saved' during pandemic as charity partnership provided urgent help

A Salford woman has praised the organisations who "saved" her after she was left facing mental health struggles and financial difficulties.

Leia Partington, from Little Hulton, had already lost her son to a tragic car accident before a number of friends sadly died during the pandemic.

The 43-year-old, who uses a wheelchair due to rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, recalled: “When my son died, I didn’t even want to get out of bed.

I only got up to feed the cat each day. I needed support around me to get me back on track.” Thankfully, Leia was one of a number of people across Greater Manchester to receive help from a partnership between charitable organisation Mustard Tree and progressive landlord, ForHousing.
