Rita Sahatçiu Ora (born 26 November 1990) is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She rose to prominence in February 2012 when she featured on DJ Fresh's single "Hot Right Now", which reached number one in the UK. Her debut studio album, Ora, released in August 2012, debuted at number one in the United Kingdom. The album contained the UK number-one singles, "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)". Judging on Australia's version of The Voice left Rita Ora, 31, in tears when a contestant explained that her mum was having cancer treatment, leading the Kosovan-born star to well up and talk about her own mother Vera's experience of the disease.

She became teary after hearing Aleisha Gam's family story, as the young singer revealed her mum had been battling cancer two years.The normally bubbly singer, who British fans see trading banter with her fellow judges on Britain's The Masked Singer, welled up, and struggled to keep her composure as she opened up to Aleisha and the rest of the studio about her family history. "I know how it feels to sort of have that connection with a song, and then that memory always sticks with that song.
