The progress made in the development of a vaccination to protect against coronavirus is 'remarkable', according to the Government's chief scientific adviser.
Sir Patrick Vallance said today that 'vaccines are the answer' to the COVID-19 pandemic. At a press conference delivered alongside Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak, the chief scientific adviser said that a vaccine in the UK may go into the clinic for first testing in April. “I still believe we will be lucky to get a vaccine for mass use in a year from the start of this, that would be extraordinary, but there is progress", he added.
