Jimmy Kimmel
James Christian Kimmel (born November 13, 1967) is an American television host, comedian, writer, and producer. He is the host and executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a late-night talk show that premiered on ABC on January 26, 2003 at Hollywood Masonic Temple in Hollywood, California; and on April 1, 2019, at a secondary home, the Zappos Theater on the Las Vegas Strip. Kimmel hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2016, and the Academy Awards in 2017 and 2018.

Primetime Emmys Are Officially Going Virtual For 2020

If you caught the nominations announcement for the 72nd Emmy Awards on Tuesday you were greeted with a virtual production that has become commonplace since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

The emcee, Leslie Jones, described how she took an empty plane from New York to Los Angeles and was taken to an empty studio which included only a cameraperson.

Joining her via zoom, skype or some other online conference tool from their homes (or some other locations) were Laverne Cox, Josh Gad and Tatiana Maslany.
