Poundland shop to close for good in Ayrshire town

Ayrshire town, it's been confirmed today. Poundland on Ayr High Street will not reopen when coronavirus lockdown restrictions are eased.

Bosses of the bargain shop confirmed they will not be renewing the lease on the store.The firm have expressed "sadness" at having to close the store which is another blow to Ayr town centre.A spokesperson for Poundland said: "While we’re sad to be closing our High Street, Ayr, store on Saturday, April 3, we’ll still be offering customers amazing value nearby in Ayr Central Shopping Centre."Unfortunately, the lease is expiring on the High Street store.
