Following confusion over lockdown rules, the Portuguese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, announced in a U-turn today that travellers from the UK can enter from midnight on Monday.
The move will revoke the current essential travel restrictions that are in place until Sunday, which sees only returning residents permitted.
A statement on the Visit Portugal's website says the Portuguese National Tourist Office has been ensuring that testing capacity will meet the needs of opening its borders back up, reports The Mirror.
