Downing Street said police do not have the powers to enter gardens to check on the six-person rule under coronavirus legislation ahead of the latest guidance being published today.

From Monday, people living in England will be able to meet up to six people in their gardens or parks as long as social distancing measures are maintained.

The position in Scotland is slightly different, as groups of eight people are allowed to meet outdoors from today, but they've been urged to use their judgement in a bid to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
