Police continue to search woodland after two handguns and ammo found

On Friday two handguns and ammunition were recovered. Officers have been seen digging in woodlands off Ashley Lane with colossal resources used in scouring the land.

The hunt was triggered by intelligence and a specialist search unit vehicle was at the scene with the force helicopter scrambled, and sniffer dogs deployed assisting a large number of officers.

CCTV masts have also been erected. Although finds have been made it is understood the intelligence suggested a bigger arms cache was at the location.
