Blantyre pub raises cash for house fire victims
Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.A Blantyre pub held a social distance fundraiser in aid of the families affected by a recent tragic house fire in the town.The Stonefield Tavern, on Glasgow Road, hosted the event last month following the death of a 59-year-old woman, who passed away following a fire at her home on Heathcliff Avenue on Friday, July 10.Four families were also directly affected by the blaze and have been forced to stay with relatives because of the damage to their homes.Pub landlord Stan Gordon was keen to help those affected and hosted the fundraiser at his popular pub, with regulars raising over £1800.He told the Advertiser: “We decided to hold a fundraiser among our regulars on
