Person struck by train near Bathgate on West Lothian line

West Lothian. Emergency services were called to the scene between Bathgate and Blackridge at around 6am on Thursday. Train operator ScotRail is warning passengers to expect disruption and route changes while police deal with the tragic incident.

A tweet said: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Bathgate and Blackridge. “The emergency services are on their way to the scene now.“Check back for further updates once we know more.” Alternative service routes have been put into place for Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central trains that were due to travel to Edinburgh.

They will instead go via Shotts, Falkirk High and Falkirk Grahamston.Meanwhile, services from Helensburgh to Edinburgh will terminate at Airdrie..
