Pep Guardiola has already given his verdict on whether he believes Erik ten Hag should stay at Manchester United after the club decided to keep the Dutchman as manager.

United contemplated sacking Ten Hag despite their shock victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final. It was reported over the weekend that Sir Jim Ratcliffe had met with Thomas Tuchel in Monaco over his interest in taking the job, while Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter emerged as among the other options.

However, United have decided to stick with him going into the 2024/25 season. An end-of-season review has culminated in the 54-year-old keeping his position as boss at Old Trafford, with the club set to offer Ten Hag a contract extension.

His current deal is set to expire in June 2025.
