People claiming certain benefits could lose access to payments before Christmas

HM Revenue and Custom s (HMRC) has issued an urgent warning to all customers who use the Post Office to collect their benefit payments.

From December 1, 2021, HMRC will stop making payments of Child Benefit, Guardian’s Allowance and Tax Credits, into Post Office Card accounts (POCa) and is urging any customers who receive their payments via this method to act now so they still get their money on time.

HMRC warned that these customers only have until November 30, 202 to set up a new bank or building society account and notify them of these details so they can continue to receive their payments.
