elderly woman from rubble after part of her house collapsed. A 77-year-old woman was killed when part of the property in Old Lane, Shevington, Wigan, gave way on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called at around 2.25pm, Manchester Evening News reports. Neighbours believe the woman was outside the house when the gable end of the building fell and she became trapped.Firefighters pulled her from the rubble, however, she later died from her injuries in hospital.Today, shocked neighbours recalled the harrowing moment they realised she was injured, as well as their frantic attempts to rescue her.One man went out to help after hearing a loud 'bang' at about 2.10pm."The guy next door said the house had come down," he explained."I looked up.
