MORNING Live's Gethin Jones was forced to apologise today after a guest was snubbed in a major faux pas. Today's edition of the BBC One show saw Dr Punam Krishan visit Scotland for a piece about life expectancy.

As well as visiting an over 50's dance group, she spoke with a local politician about why areas of Scotland has a lower life expectancy than other parts of the country.

In a voice over, the GP said: "Patricia Gibson is the local MP." After the pair chatted, she added: "Patricia's comments about diet and about hope have got me thinking about how we compare to the rest of the world when it comes to longevity." However, viewers familiar with Scottish Government were quick to point out that Dr Punam hadn't been speaking to Patricia at all.
