McDonald's issues urgent warning to all drive-thru customers

Over the course of the week, McDonald's has reopened hundreds of its drive-thrus in the UK. In a bid to control the numbers of people visiting its restaurants, the fast food chain has been releasing full lists of the locations of branches which have reopened on a daily basis - but it's not stopped shoppers from rushing to their local McDonald's.

Yesterday, the Elk Mill Retail Park branch in Royton was closed by police, after long queues formed, which led up to the Elk Mill roundabout and on Broadway.

As a result of the long traffic queues, some shoppers have been asking if they can walk to pick up their food, instead of driving.
