straight to your inbox every day for free Former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has been appointed to the first-team coaching staff by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Fletcher has been working with United's Under-16s since October, initially joining the club to get experience as he worked his way towards his coaching badges.
But Solskjaer has taken the decision to promote him to a first-team role as he seeks to capitalise on the Scot's experience of life at United and his winning mentality.
Fletcher came through the academy at United and made more than 340 appearances in 13 years as a first-team player, winning five Premier League titles, the Champions League in 2008 and one FA Cup and one League Cup.
