Manchester United eye more success in a competition they've never won

It is compliment to United that before 2019 they had never previously been eligible to partake in the English Football League Trophy, which has been traditionally contested by the 48 clubs across League One and League Two.

However, five years ago the EFL looked to rejuvenate the tournament, recognised the third most prestigious knockout competition in English football, by allowing U21 sides from the Premier League and Championship to enter.
