Man rushed to hospital after collision in Prestwich

A man has been taken to hospital after a collision in Prestwich. Emergency services attended the scene on Bury New Road at around 7pm.

Specialist firefighters were also in attendance. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one male casualty was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

Their condition or injuries currently aren't known. The A56 Bury New Road was closed between Fairfax Road and Church Lane, close to the Railway and Naturalist pub, as a result.

The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police for further comment and details. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed three fire appliances were at the scene.
