Manchester City have written to their casual workers confirming they will be paid until the end of the season. With football suspended until April 30 at the earliest and no guarantees over when it will return, there has been uncertainty over the income of people who work for the club on matchdays - a group of around 1,000 including stewards, ticketing support, and receptionists.
The club had been criticised for not communicating with their workers earlier, with Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Wolves among the Premier League clubs that were swifter to take action and offer support.
