The new series of ITV2’s Love Island is already bringing the drama, including some very steamy moments. But although the bust-ups and make-ups are unrehearsed, nothing is left to chance and producers film secret “dress rehearsals” before each series starts.
A group of young singletons, who are main villa rejects often hoping to get bumped up to the actual show, are flown out to Majorca to spend time in the villa, testing out every element, from camera angles to drinking games.This all happens before the real cast have even landed on Spanish shores.
Series one winner Jessica Hayes, 29, was a villa guinea pig… How the dry run works “It’s exactly the same as the main show. We’re recorded 24/7 because the behind-the-scenes people need to practise the filming and editing," explains Jess.
Series three's Tyne-Lexy Clarson, 25, also previously divulged details to OK! - “During the dry run we slept in the villa for three nights and all got to know each other.
