Love Island fans are convinced that Liam Llewellyn knows Gemma is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen.The brand new series of the reality show kicked off on Monday 6 June with a new twist.

Instead of the contestants choosing who they'd like to couple up with, the public were given the power to choose for them. Gemma, 19 – the daughter of former professional footballer Michael Owen – was paired up with postgraduate student Liam, 22.

Although the pair did engage in a conversation about football, leading Liam to ask if she had dated a footballer, Gemma resisted name dropping her famous dad, after revealing she doesn't want to known for her dad before entering the villa.
