Jean Kennedy Smith, the last surviving sibling of the late President John F. Kennedy, has passed away.

Jean Kennedy Smith, a sister to President Kennedy and skilled diplomat in her own right, who helped paved the way for the formal peace agreements in Northern Ireland as the U.S. ambassador to Ireland in the '90s, has died.

John F. Kennedy, died on Wednesday, June 17.

Smith was the eighth of nine children born to Joseph P. and Rose Kennedy, and she tragically outlived several of them by decades.
