Emmerdale star Clare King has revealed she almost quit the soap after struggling with arthritis. The actress, who first appeared on the ITV soap as Kim Tate in 1989, was diagnosed aged just 28.

But she said the condition had become so bad that she had to have the joints in her fingers removed and replaced with plates.
