Idris Elba
Idrissa Akuna Elba OBE (born 6 September 1972) is an English actor, writer, producer, rapper, singer, songwriter and DJ. He is known for roles including Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). He has been nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, winning one, and was nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Idris Elba revealed a Luther film is "this close" but there are no plans for a sixth season in bittersweet news to fans. Idris, 47, said while there are no "formal plans" to make a sixth season of the detective drama, a film might not be so far off.

He told Sky News: “I’ve made it very clear that I’d like to see Luther come back as a film. "And I can tell you this, that we are this close to making a film of Luther.” Talk of a Luther film has been around for years with Idris admitting two years ago that its writer Neil Cross was “beavering away” on the film script.
