HMRC issues new advice to employers on what to do after furlough scheme ends this month

dailyrecord.co.ukHM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released the latest figures for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) which shows there were 540,000 employers with 1.9 million staff on furlough on June 30, 2021.
This was a decrease of 590,000 from May 31 where there were 2.4 million workers on furlough. Since the start of the UK Government scheme in March 2020, a total of 11.6 million jobs have been put on furlough for at some point over the last 18 months.
The final stage of the furlough scheme started this week as part of the UK Government’s plan to phase out its financial support at the end of September.
