The new BBC show follows Peel and five other keen snappers as they take on the challenges of their famous mentor – who offers tips for the benefit of viewers as well as the competitors – while visiting locations including Brighton, Herefordshire and Birmingham.
Peel is far from a beginner. A street photographer with a passion for music, she likes to lose herself whilst walking around a city with her headphones on and her camera in hand.
Her signature style focuses on silhouettes and she enjoys letting a subject or scene lead her approach, rather than the other way around. “The backdrop and light hitting in the right way has to be there before the subject comes into play,” she says.
