Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley were left red-faced on today's show after a guest swore live on air.

The presenter duo were forced to apologise after BBC correspondent John Simpson blurted out a rather rude word during an interview about his new book.

The 76-year-old appeared via video link when he said "you're a real w**ker", much to the astonishment of GMB hosts and viewers watching from home.

John, who has reported from 30 warzones, spoke about his new book, Our Friends in Beijing, which details the time he was a victim of a mock execution.During Friday's show, he said: "It wasn’t me in China, of course, but it was me in Beirut."I was made to kneel down and the guy stuck a gun in the back of my neck and pulled.
