Furious Michael Owen hits out at football coach over horrific remark about Gemma

Michael Owen has criticised an under-18s football coach for making a vile remark about his 19 year old daughter Gemma on the hit ITV dating programme Love Island.The former professional footballer's eldest child is currently a contestant on the show, where she's made a strong impression after first being coupled up with Liam Llewellyn before getting re-coupled with Davide Saclimenti and is now currently with Luca Bish.

Her 42 year old dad has been open about her time on the show and has even gone as far as to say he doesn't want her kissing anyone – but it was a Twitter comment that enraged him.

Michael immediately replied: "What a fine example to set from a man in your responsible position." Paul has since deleted the comment alongside his Twitter account following the backlash he faced.

Showing their support for Michael, fans immediately commented on the quip as one person wrote: "Some people still live in caves.
