It’s been more than two years since Alexis Sanchez arrived at Old Trafford. Securing the Chilean’s signature was considered a coup at the time, with United sending Henrikh Mkhitaryan the other way in a swap deal.
The deal seemed like a huge win for United as they weakened the Gunners by taking their best player and also stopped City from signing one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.
But things haven’t worked out as expected after Sanchez failed to establish himself at Old Trafford. He has scored just five goals in 45 appearances in all competitions for the club.
