Odion Ighalo only played six times for Udinese. It was enough, though, to become enamoured with one particular teammate. "I’ve played with some great players," Ighalo told Cross The Line in 2016. “I’ve played with Alexis Sanchez.
Even before he went to Barcelona, you could see he was going to be a top player. He always wanted the ball, you could see his quality when he trained.” High praise indeed.
Ighalo, who was sent out on a series of loans while contracted to Udinese, clearly expected Sanchez to go on to big things. Their time on the pitch together was limited: Ighalo, when he was included in the Serie A club’s squad, was often an unused substitute, or introduced late in games.
