Fire crews at scene for hours as horror blaze destroys Lanarkshire home

A fierce blaze ripped through a Hamilton home, completely destroying the roof.Emergency services raced to the scene in Livingstone Street, in the Burnbank area just after 5am on Sunday, August 28.Neighbours were evacuated while six fire crews tackled the inferno before finally leaving the street just after 10am having got the flames under control and the area safe.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

A spokeswoman for SFRS told Lanarkshire Live : "We were alerted at 5.22am on Sunday (August 28) to reports of a fire affecting a semi-detached house at Livingstone Street, Hamilton. "We mobilised six appliances to extinguish the fire and crews remain at the scene as they work to make the area safe."There are no reported casualties."It is understood that fire crews left the area shortly before 10am having contained the blaze.
