EASTENDERS star Adam Woodyatt’s divorce looks to have turned toxic amid claims he is not offering his estranged wife Bev a “fair deal”.

His settlement negotiations with his wife of 22 years are said to have become “messy”. And Albert Square insiders suggest his upcoming break from the soap to star in a play could be a way to drive down his income.

One source told The Sun on Sunday: “No one could understand why he wanted to take some time out suddenly and do the stage production. “People have been speculating that it could be so he can get away with paying less in the divorce. “It would be a tactic straight out of Ian Beale’s playbook.” The real-life drama unfolded as viewers saw six-times wed Ian go berserk with a baseball bat in the Queen.
