BBC podcaster Deborah James choked back tears as she thanked everyone who has donated to her fundraiser – which has so far raised £2million and counting.
The presenter, 40, said she felt “utterly loved” and was “absolutely mind blown” at the figure. Deborah launched the 'bowel babe' fund for Cancer Research UK this week, after heartbreakingly telling fans she has moved onto end-of-life care for her bowel cancer.
Deborah, who is known for her podcast Me and the Big C, said that setting up a fund for cancer treatments is something she's always wanted to do since being diagnosed with bowel cancer five years ago. “Ultimately, what I really want to happen is I don't want any other Deborahs to have to go through this,” she said.
