The dad-of-two discovered an incredible method to preserve the food in jars to feed the family for as long as possible. Al made the most of his bargain haul by roasting the vegetables to make 26 jars of tomato sauce that will last for up to two years.
Al, a part-time supermarket worker from Aldershot, told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk : "The tomatoes I managed to get hold of were a yellow sticker deal from my local supermarket. “At the end of the night, we still had some 36 packs of tomatoes left on the clearance table and as these.
