"Cannabis is filth... and it causes sloth": Man, 21, who smashed into police car door before leaving his Audi in a canal slammed by judge

Bradley Jones, 21, had been driving his Audi when officers pulled up alongside him and told him to turn his engine off and stay where he was.

However, he reversed and sped off, narrowly avoiding a collision with several cars, Minshull Street Crown Court heard. After briefly stopping outside a Co-op, a police car parked in front of him, leaving the passenger door open.

Jones, of Rochdale, then drove towards the car and clipped the passenger door where a police officer was standing behind. The hit sent a ‘shock’ through his arm, the court heard.
