Scots craft beer giants BrewDog have delivered a van load of hand sanitiser to the NHS- after initially being turned down by health bosses.
The Aberdeenshire-based firm have been producing the gel at their distillery and have given the first load to NHS Grampian. But last week bosses at the health board said their 'punk sanitiser' didn't meet clinical standards needed to tackle coronavirus.
At 68% alcohol, the gel breached guidelines set out by the health and safety executive.Health bosses added that they were very "grateful" to the company and they were working with BrewDog to find an acceptable product.
The beer brand went back to the drawing board and have now produced a useable gel. And the first batch of 5,000 bottles were dropped
