M.E.N that some people were magnet fishing in the canal when the device was discovered on Sunday afternoon. A Greater Manchester Police confirmed details of the incident.A force spokesperson said: "At around 4.10pm on Sunday 20 September 2020, police were called to reports that a device had been found in the canal off Edge Lane, Droylsden."Officers attended and the item was safely recovered."A cordon was put in place as a precaution."
