As well as the creation of the PFA taskforce, Sir Geoff Hurst is supporting a ban on children heading footballs, and the Daily Mail has launched a campaign led by Chris Sutton - whose father Mike, a former footballer, is battling dementia - calling for immediate action on the issue and includes a limit on heading at all levels of the game.
Former England striker Alan Shearer also presented a 2017 documentary which investigated the link between dementia and football and the potential brain damage caused by heading balls.
