In a tweet, GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley said: “Good Afternoon from your Golborne and Lowton neighbourhood team, “As you may have seen on social media, McColls shop on Newton road was subject to a robbery last night. “Thankfully no one was hurt but the offenders were armed with a metal tools and made threats towards the staff, they have taken stock and made off in a small blue vehicle. “Enquiries are ongoing.
