Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

More than 100 people from across the globe have applied to run a Scottish guest house - on a tiny island home to just 15 people.

The chance to run Tighard Guest House on the island of Canna - which sits 23 miles out in the Atlantic - came up last year. The isle, part of the Inner Hebrides, is just four and a half miles long and one mile wide, and is more than two hours from the mainland.

They hope to appoint someone by Easter, according to our sister title WalesOnline. Tighard, which means 'high house' in Gaelic, is an Edwardian property build around 1904, which sits atop a hill surrounded by stunning views. It was renovated as a guest house in 2006 and offers three letting bedrooms all year round, with large garden grounds and a small orchard and woodland.NTS were looking for someone who has good hospitality and people skills for the job as the house is one of the few holiday providers on the island.Last year the previous owner announced they were leaving the role but remaining on the island.Candidates were asked to produce a business plan and will be taken to Canna for a tour and to meet its community development trust before being appointed. The development trust is building homes for rent and hopes to double its population to about 30.A spokesperson for the National Trust for Scotland said: "We've been delighted by the level of interest in the tenancy for Canna's Tighard House, which attracted enquiries from around the world."One hundred formal applications were received by the closing date and these have been whittled down to a shortlist of 10."The next stage is
