One of Amy Winehouse’s friends has spoken publically for the first time about their lesbian affair in a new BBC Two documentary.

Catriona Gourley, who lived with Amy and washed her body in preparation for the funeral, reveals that while she had openly been in gay relationships, Amy was confused about her sexuality.

In the documentary Reclaiming Amy, she reveals: “She used to write notes while I was sleeping, saying things like, ‘You are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen,’ and, ‘How can you look as beautiful asleep as you do awake.’ Our relationship was so unique.
