SHERLOCK star Amanda Abbington broke down in tears on today’s Lorraine as her fiancé Jonathan Goodwin opened up about his life changing injuries.
Britain’s Got Talent star Jonathan is now paralysed and in a wheelchair after a stunt went terribly wrong on TV. He admitted he told Amanda she could leave him after the accident, revealing: “I did say you have a great out of jail free card, you can walk away.” He added: “She told me not to be so stupid.” Emotional Amanda started to cry as she told how the incident had made them closer than ever.
She explained: “We are closer and tighter than ever - every day is a joy… " And the couple now plan to say yes to everything, with Amanda admitted: "Life’s too short - that’s what I’ve realised through all of this.
Just be in the moment.” Speaking about their love, Amanda said: “He’s a total inspiration, he’s an idiot, all my friends love him, the family love him and kids love him.” The escapologist, 42, was performing a stunt on America's Got Talent: Extreme where he attempted to escape from a straight jacket while being hung upside down 30 feet in the air in between two suspended cars.
