Alec Baldwin was told the gun he discharged was safe before the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, court records claim.

The 63 year old Hollywood actor, who was filming for the upcoming movie Rust in New Mexico when a prop gun he fired killed the 42 year old and injured the film's director Joel Souza, 48, described how he was “fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred”.

Halyna was shot in the stomach on Thursday 21 October while the film’s director Joel Souza was also injured in the shooting.
