A sequel to the beloved Halloween family-friendly film Hocus Pocus has finally been confirmed. Director Adam Shankman, best known for films such as Hairspray and Rock of Ages will be taking over as director from Kenny Ortega for the second Hocus Pocus film.

Shankman is also currently in the middle of pre-production on Disenchanted, a sequel to Disney’s fantasy-comedy Enchanted, which came out in 2007.

While a writer for the sequel to Hocus Pocus has also been revealed, Jen D’Angelo, it has yet to be confirmed if the three main stars- Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimi- will return for the project.

However, all three have previously expressed interest in re-appearing in the sequel, so it seems that it might just be a matter
