Unpopular plans for 5G phone mast in Salford suburb thrown out by planning panel

The 20-metre monopole with 12 antennae - which would be located in the car park of Monton Bowling Club - has been refused planning permission.

Speaking at a planning panel meeting on Thursday (June 3), residents said they are not 'NIMBYs' and not opposed to 5G, but they believe that the 65-foot mast does not belong in a 'predominantly residential area' such as this.
