UK government 'could not confirm' reports North Korea leader Kim Jong Un is dead

The UK government has said they have been unable to confirm whether rumours over the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are true.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab told the BBC's Andrew Marr programme on Sunday morning that he did not know if Kim Jong Un had died.

He said he had "seen the reports" that Mr Kim had died but he "could not confirm" if he had passed away or not. North Korean authorities have done nothing to counter media reports that 36-year-old Mr Kim is unwell, prompting concerns about who is next in line to run a nuclear-armed country that has been ruled by the same family for seven decades.
