Trials start to see if sniffer dogs can detect coronavirus - researchers need help from people living in North West

People with mild symptoms of Covid-19 who live in the region are being encouraged to participate.The research team is aiming to recruit thousands of people in the North West, who are due to have a swab test, or have had one conducted in the previous 24 hours.Volunteers will be asked to provide samples of breath and body odour by wearing a mask for three hours, and nylon socks and a t-shirt for twelve hours.The trial, which is being led by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, could be a huge breakthrough for testing in England.Scientists will determine whether special bio-detection dogs can be used as a rapid and non-evasive diagnostic tool for.
